Erebus - personal project [Mar10] (2'15'') There used to be a small but beautiful blue rock somewhere within the vast void of the universe. Life appeared on its crust relatively fast and as usual through out the evolution, one of the species dominated the rest, by forming complex societies to overcome its primordial survival needs. The dominant inhabitants progressed technologically, excelled in many different fields within their closed society and managed to build establishments on every corner of the planet's terrain. But during the process of solving these initial problems and building their dream utopia, more problems would arise faster than before, making their daily lives gradually more and more complicated. The time came when their overcomplicated society demanded so much devotion, that they stopped questioning other, more fundamental issues. It was then, when they even stopped looking up the heavens. The sky that used to inspire and guide them will now bring them disaster and Erebus.
Theros - 3rd year major project [May05] (2'38'') (harvesting in ancient Greek) A short film which criticises an issue of the modern human society. It is a nonnarrative character based piece, which through the use of strong imagery and repetitive animation delivers the message. The piece has an original sound track composed and engineered by Ioannis Cherouvim. The whole project lasted about eight months. From the concept development to the final post production renderings.
Theros was awarded the Best Major Project (NCCA Graduation 2005)

Utopia - 3D Matte Painting [Mar05] (10'')My third year masterclass project. The aim of this project was to create a shot with the use of projected textures on to simple 3D geometry.
Doppler - MentalRay shader [Mar05] (57'') Part of the innovations project. A custom MentalRay shader which simulates the doppler shift in colour as the camera or objects move.
Motions Of The Universe [May04] (1'53'')My second year specialist project. The death of a massive star as a supernova, which then forms a nebula. I worked for about 12 weeks for all the visual elements... but only a night for the sounds, so excuse me for the bad quality! The final piece is a result of many procedural shaders, some particle effects and a lot of compositing work. Also check out the front cover.
Prometheus [Mar03] (2'05'') A character animation project of the first year. The brief was to animate a given 3D character to a scene from a Shakespeare piece, but I asked to do something from the greek mythology. I decided to do the Myth of Prometheus who stole the fire from the Gods and gave it to the humans. The animation is not that acurate in terms of the story as the deadline was not enought. I worked solidly for 3 months to finish it. The animation doesn't have sound, and it's only a playblast as we were not allowed to render it.
Sinister scene [Nov02] (20'') The first project at Uni. The brief was to animate the build up of a sinister scene. No sounds, no rendering and no moving camera.
BlueTag vs PuttyRubber [May03] (8'') A stop motion animation made with a whitetag, a putty rubber and a webcam. In colaboration with a friend, Evangelos.
Skating Race [1993] (28'') The very first animation I made with my brother and father when I was 12. Filmed with an 8mm camera. Sorry for the very bad quality, but the film was out of date when we captured it and also I scanned it with my desktop scanner!
